Frequently Asked Questions
Here is a list of the most commonly asked questions about our services. If you have a question that isn't on this list then please get in touch.
Are Intruder Alarms easy to use?
We install easy to use, user friendly alarm systems and you can choose whether to have a keypad or keyfob to set and unset your alarm system.
Will you need to drill through walls to install my alarm?
In most cases we can use sensors and equipment that are wireless and communicate via Wifi technology. This means that easy sensor doesn’t need to be connected via a wire and we don’t need to cause any disruption to your home. When we survey your property we will be able to discuss the best system for you.
Will an intruder alarm work in a power cut?
Most alarms will continue to work even during a power cut. Modern alarm systems have a battery within them which can take over if the main electrical power goes off. Should the electricity go off when the intruder alarm is set then the system will continue to work for up to 8 hours.
Will my pets set off my alarm?
Please let us know at the time of enquiry if you have pets. We can install intruder alarm sensors that can distinguish between small animals and humans so that you don’t have to worry about false alarms.
Will my insurance premiums go down if I have an alarm?
This varies from insurer to insurer but in general you may find that you can reduce your insurance costs by having an alarm installed and a valid service agreement with an NSI approved company such as Cycad Security.
I’ve just moved and have an alarm, can you service it?
In the main yes. Most modern intruder alarm systems are serviceable. We can advise on the best course of action after inspecting the alarm and premises.
If I ask for a quote will ot be a sales person that visits me?
Not at all. For all survey visits we send a fully trained member of our team who is knowledgable and has first hand experience of our installation procedures and maintenance work.
